Old 6th is not just central to Austin, it is Austin. Old 6th was founded on the same day as Austin, the original town square, and is the most well-known street in Texas. This street of dreams was safe for settlers and immigrants who opened dry goods, saloons, sporting
houses, and hotels. Old 6th has always been a bastion of diversity and inclusivity. While entertainment has historically defined Old 6th, its strength has always been embracing being proudly eclectic and electric.
