Biography

Christie Amezquita is an accomplished commercial real estate professional and one of the partners of the Houston SHOP Companies office, which launched in 2018. SHOP Companies is a boutique real estate firm with offices in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Oklahoma City, specializing in landlord and tenant representation, sales, investment sales, and developments on a national scale.

With nearly three decades of experience in commercial real estate, Christie has gained significant expertise in retail development, landlord and tenant representation, and sales across various regions. She has a proven track record in retail developments, ranging from neighborhood shopping centers to mixed-use properties, including ground-up projects. Christie’s deep industry knowledge allows her to offer advisory and consulting services to a wide range of leasing projects, from new developments to redevelopments and remerchandising of existing properties. Her strong relationships with retailers, landlords, and developers, combined with her creative merchandising strategies and market insights, have helped her build long-lasting partnerships in the industry.

Christie began her career in commercial real estate in 1996 with Trammell Crow Company in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1999, she relocated to Mobile, Alabama, where she worked for a developer until 2007, overseeing retail center developments across the Florida Panhandle, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. She returned to Houston in 2008 and joined Read King, where she made a significant impact in their brokerage group for the next decade.

She became a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) in 2006 and is an active member of several professional organizations, including the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Texas Association of Realtors (TAR), and the National Association of Realtors (NAR). Additionally, Christie is deeply involved in her community and serves on the Real Estate Committee at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. Her exceptional work has earned her recognition, including being named a Houston Business Journal Heavy Hitter in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
