Discover Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City is home to our third SHOP office and continues to surprise people with its creative energy, growing food scene, and thoughtfully designed neighborhoods. The city blends Western heritage with modern development, creating a place that feels welcoming, easy to explore, and full of local character. These are some of the places we return to often and that, to us, capture what makes Oklahoma City special.

Frida Southwest

Located in the Paseo Arts District, Frida Southwest is one of Oklahoma City's favorite spots for brunch, dinner, or cocktails. The menu blends Southwestern, Northern Mexican, and New American flavors using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Named after Frida Kahlo, the space draws inspiration from her Casa Azul in Mexico, featuring modern, elegant decor, tall windows, and an intimate patio.  

30th Street Market

30th Street Market is one of those places where you end up staying longer than you planned. Part bakery, coffee shop, café, wine store, and bike shop, it has a laid back neighborhood feel. We always check out the pastry case before grabbing coffee, and the curated wine selection is worth browsing too. Try ordering the zucchini pistachio matcha cookie.

Café Kacao

Café Kacao is a very popular breakfast spot, and for good reason. The menu highlights authentic Guatemalan dishes, but the massive pancakes are what keep people coming back. They are loaded with toppings like Nutella, fresh fruit, or sweetened condensed milk and are big enough to share. 

Ma Der Lao Kitchen

Ma Der Lao Kitchen is one of Oklahoma City's most celebrated restaurants and a James Beard recognized favorite in the Plaza District. The restaurant serves authentic Lao recipes that have been passed down from the chefs family, creating food that feels deeply personal. Family photos, murals, and the welcoming patio make the restaurant feel as memorable as the meal. 

Jones Assembly

Jones Assembly is a unique gathering place. It combines a great restaurant, lively cocktail bar, and concert venue inside a beautifully restored industrial building in Film Row. We love stopping by for the scratch biscuits or wood fired pizza before catching live music on the patio. Willie Nelson has played here! 

Paseo Arts District

The Paseo Arts District is one of the most charming neighborhoods in Oklahoma City. Its Spanish inspired buildings, colorful courtyards, and locally owned galleries create a completely different feel from the rest of the city. The district is easy to explore on foot, with art studios, boutiques, restaurants, and coffee shops. You can go on a gallery walk on the first Friday of every month – held rain or shine.

Scissortail Park

Scissortail Park has quickly become the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. The 70 acre park stretches from downtown to the Oklahoma River and offers walking trails, paddle boats, gardens, sports courts, and open green space. There is always something happening, whether it is a farmers market, festival, concert, or just people enjoying the outdoors. 

Bradford House

Bradford House is one of the city's most beautifully designed boutique hotels and is Michelin Key recognized. Housed inside a restored 1912 home, every room has its own personality with carefully collected antiques and thoughtful details throughout. Owners Sara Kate and Jason Little handpicked antiques to create a London townhouse aesthetic. Even if you are not staying overnight, Quincy Bake Shop, Gilded Bar, and the wraparound porch are all worth visiting.

Classen Curve

Classen Curve is Oklahoma City's premier shopping destination. The award-winning architecture and open air layout create a polished and relaxed atmosphere, while the tenant mix blends national brands with local boutiques. The curve is home to exclusive retailers like lululemon, Anthropologie, Warby Parker, and the iconic luxury department store Balliets. 

Harvey Bakery & Kitchen

Harvey Bakery & Kitchen is one of the best places in the city to start your day. Located inside a beautifully restored auto showroom in Midtown, the bakery centers around an open kitchen where you can watch pastries being made from scratch. We recommend ordering the D.A. Harvey Bowl, the Green Goddess Sandwich, and at least one pastry from the bakery case.

Great restaurants, walkable districts, local shops, and welcoming public spaces all come together to create a city that is easy to enjoy again and again.
