Tommy John was created by a husband and wife team who left corporate America to start the brand in 2008.
With no backgrounds in clothing design or manufacturing, they left their careers, cashed out their 401Ks, and set out to reinvent men’s undergarments, the way they should be: more tailored, fit, and fashionable. That’s how their patented Stay-Tucked Undershirt and the revolutionary Tommy John brand was born.
Tommy John started as a wholesale brand, and now can be found at most Nordstrom’s across the country. With their cult following due to comfort, fit, and fabric, Tommy John has received a lot of press and recognition over the last 10 years. In 2016, Kevin Hart invested in the brand, and founders put together a strategic plan to open Brick and Mortar. Now with two stores open, and launching a women’s division, Tommy John has plans to be in major markets across the country.
